Product Overview

The Malvern Viscosizer TD is a unique and label-free system that uses Taylor Dispersion Analysis (TDA), to measure molecular size (0.2 to 50 nm radius), stability and relative viscosity in solution.

Using an ultra-violet (UV) light imaging array, the absorbance of an injected sample is measured as a function of time as it is pressure-driven through a narrow capillary with two detection windows. From this the molecular diffusion coefficient and hydrodynamic radius of molecules is determined.

The Viscosizer TD enables molecular size measurements at low concentration. Unlike other techniques, the stability and self-association of target molecules such as aggregates and oligomers can be monitored in the presence of excipients and surfactants without measurement interference.

Using ultra- low sample volumes, fully automated measurement protocols and precise environmental control for sample storage and measurement, the Viscosizer TD is ideally suited for early screening of molecules such as drug candidates.

A series of automated events allow for high throughout with high resolution sample analysis and excellent repeatability. Automatic procedures used to clean and fill the micro capillary reduce user dependency.
