Product Overview

The LUXOR Pt is a fully automated metal coater that creates an extremely uniform, thin and homogeneous Gold or Platinum layer on your non-conductive material. Renowned for their speedy operation and ease of use, the LUXOR applies a fine gold coating from 1 to 100 nm thickness in a controlled and accurate manner allowing users to get the very best SEM imaging quality from samples.

The LUXOR Pt is typically used for high resolution FEG-SEM imaging applications up to 1,000,000x magnification where sample charging might be an issue. Metal coatings created using LUXOR strongly reduce sample charging by increasing conduction. They improve secondary electron emission, allowing the microscope’s detectors to pick up more hi-res imaging details. Metal coatings also reduce beam penetration, which significantly improves edge resolution and prevent sensitive samples from being damaged.

The unique ‘upside down’ design of the LUXOR Pt makes sure that loose particles will be removed during the coating process which helps to protect the SEM from contamination and damage.

Benefits

UNIQUE A² TECHNOLOGY

Generate remarkably uniform, thin and homogeneous gold or platinum coatings for improved SEM analysis.

UPSIDE DOWN DESIGN

Process up to six samples at once using the unique design. Allows for easy, accessible sample loading and ensures any loose particles are removed during the coating process.

COMPLETELY AUTOMATED

Highly innovative, fully automated metal coating system applies a fine grain platinum or gold coating from 1 to 100 nm thickness. Built in touch screen – simply set thickness and push start.

TRIPLE FUNCTIONALITY

More than just a gold or Platinum coater. It also offers a preset vacuum level mode to protect sensitive samples and provides a time-based sample drying mode.

ROBUST DESIGN, MADE IN GERMANY
With a modest footprint and elegant appearance, the LUXOR Pt is a robust, sturdy system designed to be used intensively and run hassle-free for the life of the system.

Applications

LUXOR’s highly advanced metal coaters (Au/Pt) are extensively used for many applications within the field of materials science – such as pharma, life science,
electronics, polymers, ceramics, as well as for academic purposes.
