The Micromeritics ASAP 2460 & ASAP 2425 integrate a variety of automated gas sorption techniques into a single, table top instrument to provide high-quality surface area, porosity, and chemisorption isotherm data for materials analysis. The ASAP series is used to characterise porous materials by measuring how gases adsorb (or desorb) on their surfaces. Typical outputs include: BET (Brunauer-Emmett-Teller) surface area, Pore size distribution (micro, meso, macro pores), Pore volume and Isotherms (adsorption / desorption curves). These are widely used in materials science, catalysis, adsorbents, zeolites, MOFs, battery materials, etc.
ASAP 2425 is a high-throughput, fixed 6-port surface area and porosimetry analyser with built-in degas capability and full automation. It is ideal for labs with consistently high sample loads and where all ports will often be used.
ASAP 2460 Surface Area and Porosimetry Analyser offers a unique expandable system designed for high performance and high sample throughput. It provides the same core measurement capabilities as the ASAP 2425 in a modular, expandable architecture (2 → 4 → 6 ports). The base ASAP 2460 is a two-port master control unit. For more throughput, additional two-port auxiliary units can be connected to the master unit expanding the system to either a four-port or six-port analyser. It offers enhancements such as faster BET runs (down to ~30 min for 6 ports), long unattended isotherm runs (up to 60 h without refilling Dewar), enhanced software features (Python scripting, advanced dosing control, performance dashboard), and flexibility in scaling to the lab’s workload.
