Malvern NanoSight NS300
Nano Particle Tracking
Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA) is a relatively new technique which allows the operator to visualise and measure the size, light scattering intensity, fluorescence and count of nanoparticles in a liquid suspension. NTA is based on laser illuminated optical microscopy, where a high resolution digital camera captures the Brownian motion of each particle to produce high resolution count and size distribution results. The addition of a fluorescence detection mode enables the target particles to be measured in a complex background.
Advantages of NTA include particle-by-particle measurement, accurate characterisation of real time events through the use of visual validation and minimal sample preparation and processing time. Applications for NTA include the study of protein aggregation, exosomes, micro vesicle research, drug delivery systems, viral vaccines and fluorescent quantum dots.
