What if you could screen hundreds of biologic formulations — and understand not just which ones are stable, but why?
Malvern Panalytical’s new Zetasizer Core brings together dynamic light scattering (DLS), static light scattering (SLS) and differential scanning fluorimetry (DSF) in a high-throughput, plate-based system designed for biologics formulation and stability screening.
Three measurements. One workflow. More insight.
Formulation stability is rarely determined by a single factor.
DLS reveals changes in particle size and aggregation.
SLS provides insight into protein–protein interactions, including B22.
DSF measures thermal stability and unfolding behaviour.
Together, these measurements provide a more complete picture of what is happening to a protein — helping researchers distinguish between structural instability, unfavourable molecular interactions and aggregation.
Screen more. Use less sample.
Zetasizer Core supports standard 96-, 384- and 1536-well plates, with volumes as low as 4 µL in 1536-well format and throughput of up to 192 samples per minute.
This allows researchers to screen a wider range of formulation conditions while conserving valuable protein samples, evaluating factors such as pH, buffer composition, excipients, surfactants and concentration within a single high-throughput workflow.
See what’s changing — and understand why.
This is where the combination of DLS, SLS and DSF becomes particularly powerful.
A formulation may look stable by size measurement but show unfavourable protein–protein interactions. Another may have favourable colloidal behaviour but lower thermal stability.
By combining the data, researchers can build a multidimensional stability profile and make more informed decisions about which formulations should progress.
A new tool for biologics development.
Zetasizer Core extends the Zetasizer family into high-throughput formulation screening, complementing the detailed characterisation capabilities of the Zetasizer Advance.
For laboratories developing proteins, biologics and other complex formulations, it offers a new way to screen more conditions, conserve precious samples and gain more information from every experiment.
