If you are a young scientist you can win a $750 travel award by entering our funny caption  competition.

This image is from CSIRO archives. Can you think of a funny or imaginative caption? The participant who submits the most amusing or imaginative caption will receive a A$750 award. There is also a second place award of $400. 

These awards are intended to provide financial assistance for you to attend a science related event or meeting, or to further your education (with your organisations permission).

The scheme is open to those aged 30 or younger who work in the fields of the Life or Material or Chemical or Environmental Sciences* in Australian or New Zealand organisations. This includes all PhD candidates in these fields. We can only accept one entry per person. Winners will be advised via email and their selections posted on Facebook and featured in our next newsletter.

* As a guide these fields include Biotech, Protein, Pharma, Food, Agriculture, Chemical, Polymer, Ceramics, Particles, Surfaces, Minerals, Soil and Water.
