Scale up high pressure homogenisers
Emulsiflex processors rapidly reduce particles and droplets from micron to nanometer sizes. These Avestin systems are based on the principle of dynamic high pressure homogenization, in which pressure is independent of flow rate. This allows precise control of particle size, with very narrow size distribution. Sub micron particles with diameters less than 50nm can easily be achieved.

There are three Emulsiflex systems, the C5, C50 and C160. They cover a capacity from 1 to 160L/Hr, with guaranteed scale up between systems. Standard maximum pressure is 30,000 psi (207 MPa) and even higher pressures are available as specials.

No "O" rings and no gaskets in the entire product path. All face seals are precision machined, metal to metal, or metal to ceramic
Homogenising Valve
Systems are supplied with a dynamic homogenizing valve in which no clogging can occur (static valve optional). Wear parts are made of stainless steel or optionally available in ceramic or titanium steel.
Filter/Extruder
An optional high pressure extruder/filter can be included for extrusion of emulsions through membranes and sterile filtration.
Cleaning/Sterilisation
Emulsiflex systems can easily be disassembled for cleaning and are "steam in place" sterilisable. All wetted parts can be autoclaved.
